New Alumni Challenge FAQ

Who’s eligible?

• All undergraduate and graduate alums from the Classes of 2008 to 2012, plus all students who will graduate in spring 2013.

What is matched?

• A cumulative total of up to $1,000 per donor made to any UC Berkeley school, college, or program between July 1, 2012, and June 30, 2013. You may give more than $1,000 or make multiple contributions, but the challenge only matches up to $1,000. Participants who give $500 or more will be welcomed into The Charter Hill Society, a special philanthropy circle whose members share an extraordinary commitment to preserving Berkeley’s excellence.

How long does the challenge last?

• Through June 30, 2013, or as long as the matching funds—generously provided by a group of donors—are available.

Am I still eligible for the New Alumni Challenge if I gave to it last year?

• Yes, if you graduated between 2008 and 2012 or will be graduating this spring. While gifts from alumni who graduated in 2007 no longer qualify for the challenge match, we hope you will still continue to support your alma mater! You may search for other giving opportunities below.
